I have recently discovered this little FREE gem. It's a 100% clone of the original hardware (reverse engineering of the original chips) and load all sound cards from the JV-era, so you can gets tons of sounds.

I have tested it on my Mac and it works perfectly, both as standalone and AU plugin.
It's a little bit tricky because you need to put the firmware files in the correct path, which is different on Win and Mac (of course) but also slightly different for the standalone or plugin version..

For the AU version is the "hidden" Library Folder then "JV880" on Mac.

On Windows it is: YourUserName/Appdata/Roaming/jv880.

At the moment it doesn't have any control on the sounds/presets, so right now it's just a preset "player", hopefully the hardware part (controls, menu) will be implemented in the future...

It's freely downloadable from https://github.com/giulioz/jv880_juce but you'll need to find the firmware(s) on archive.org just search for "JV880 rompack".
